This mod fixes sims’ shadows shown as black rectangles. Unlike original shadows, these are black, not blue. There are three versions which differ in opaque (see the screenshot below) – choose only one. Even if your game renders sims’ shadows correctly, you can still use this mod.
Restoring shadows You probably turned (sims’) shadows off, when a problem with black rectangles occured. To make this mod useful you have to turn them back on. Here’s how to do it: In game: set Shadows setting in Graphics/Performance Options to high. If you still cannot see sims’ shadows, in Graphics Rules.sgr (in [Latest EP/SP folder or basegame folder if you don’t have any EPs or SPs]TSDataResConfig) find option Shadows. This is what you’d see:
setting $High boolProp simShadows false ← if there is false, change to true boolProp objectShadows true boolProp guob true boolProp heightMapShadows true end
You have to delete boolProp simShadows false and boolProp simShadows off from userStartup.cheat (in DocumentsEA GamesThe Sims 2 (or The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection)Config) too, if this file exist and these lines are in it.
Known bugs Sim shadows overlap and cut simetimes, but it isn’t caused by the mod.
