Replieeees!

Sorry, life has been pretty hectic. Also, the queue’s gonna run out pretty soon and I’m gonna take a short break from refilling it. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of stuff left in my drafts folder, but I’m pretty tired of seeing my posts all the time (and you might be, too?). Short break, don’t panic.

Tabby, the security kitten.

annegirl13 said: “Yes, servant. Fill my dish. After that you can clean my litter box before I use it, and then maybe I will reward you with cuddles.” Cats are always of the opinion that the people work for them.

That sounds about right. Cats are assholes (I love them!).

New neighbours.

didilysims said: Ooh fresh blood!

Well, since I made Jan part of the story a long time ago by making her related to Komei, it was only natural to eventually add her to the neighbourhood. And my hoods are always in need of male sims… Leo was the lucky one. I have to admit that Jan is not the one he was created for, but shhh!

Pregnant Sandy

didilysims said: I really like that first pic! Sandy matches her living room so nicely. 😀

I was screaming when I saw which maternity outfit the game picked for her, It was just too perfect.

Two’s a crowd… (in that case)

fuzzyspork said: THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

I know that there’s an “original” this refers to (and I’m vaguely aware of the context), but whenever I read this I have to think of Shawn Spencer lisping/hissing this in “Psych”…

didilysims said: Wow she blends right in with that school bus!

She does! To be honest, she blends in with almost everything in Middleground. I seem to have a rather ‘Plantsim-friendly’ colour palette at work there…

didilysims said: Fun! Good choice on Brandon’s costume. 😀

I just could not NOT dress him up like this!

didilysims said: I’ve heard that the toddler needs to be able to walk first to escape, but I see it so rarely I can’t say one way or another. I wonder if it’s related to personality–maybe active points?

I don’t know. It’s just so confusing. Andy and Benny definitely hadn’t learned how to walk when they ‘first escaped’. And both of them have six active points- so only slightly above average-…

didilysims said: Yep, Harrises is correct. Just like keeping up with the Joneses. English is weird. 😀

Then again, the German language has compound nouns like “Oberdonaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitänswitwengesellschaft” (a true classic). I guess every language has its quirks.

holleyberry said: You done fucked up Joe.

Joe has early on presented himself as someone who has… issues. Fucking things up is what he does. Maybe one day he’ll stop? Or he’ll eventually fuck up really bad (if breaking up with your pregnant girlfriend, cheating on your fiance and trying to force your ex-girlfriend into getting custody of your son- whom he has never seen, by the way- isn’t “fuck up really bad”).

holleyberry said: Poor Komei.

It was so heart-breaking. He wouldn’t stop crying for quite some time, I almost regretted breaking them up. But considering Joe just kept flirting with Sandy when left unsupervised (it happened again when I played one of the other residents and he bought some groceries. Went to the grocery- Joe and Sandy flirting. At least Komei didn’t have to witness it this time. You know what’s what annoyed me the most? I put them in “ACR friendzone mode” ages ago.)

didilysims said: “Toddler-Adult-Elder-Dead” ha ha ha!

It’s true, though. I always hated that they had such shortened life spans. Even with all the benefits added, they still feel… incomplete.

audreysims14 said: The grilled cheese aspiration is cute and a fun quirk, but even as a secondary it really does take over their lives!

I wished other secondary aspirations would interfere with a Sims primary aspiration as much as the Grilled Cheese secondary. Or maybe it’s just the fact that there are only like five wishes the aspiration rolls.

Breaking-and-entering shenanigans

fuzzyspork said: If something like that exists it was probably made by Pescado at MATY. Maybe the Authorized Personnel Only mod has a setting for this. Though it’s room specific. I guess it would have to be used in the rooms with doors to the outside.

taylors-simblr said: I think you can use the visitor controller to ban specific sims. Not sure if just banning cheerleaders will work, but they’re technically still classed as one so maybe it will

Thank you both. I actually use the Visitor Controller right know, just thought there was maybe a less “final” solution.

Benjamin the escape artist

fuzzyspork said: You know, after all these years I still have never seen a toddler do this in my game! :/

Really? I have it happen quite regularly but have never been able to figure out what triggers it. Both Benjamin and Andrew can do it, but another toddler in this hood seems unable to…

Happy birthday, Andrew and Benjamin

👻 Questions

Are you a Tricker or a Treater: A treater. I enjoy giving out candy to all the kids on Halloween (It’s gaining popularity over here)- well as long as I don’t have to babysit them afterwards.

What’s your inner demon: that thing where I’m leaving the house, walking to the train and try to remember if I locked the door before leaving, and the next thing I know is that I’m stressing out because I imagine me having to save my dog from the train tracks while a trains approaching (we live really close to the train tracks). Dunno how it’s called, but, yeah… Sorry for being depressing.

What monster would you be: I have a soft spot for Frankenstein’s Bride or any creature closely related to it. Also, vampires? Or witches? They have a pretty cool ‘skill set’.

How would you be in a horror movie: I would be locking myself in a safe room (a legit one, not a ‘surprise, I can enter and stab you’ one) and wait until everything’s over. Or grab a weapon (just in case) and flee. But I don’t want to look too threatening, I might get shot or sth because they think I’m the killer. I’m more of a quiet kind of girl, I think I’d have pretty good chances surviving.

Are you easily scared: Oh my god, yes. I get scared just reading freaking buzzfeed articles!

What are you afraid of: EVERYTHING. My most random fear is the fear of fish. Not sharks, not freaky sea creatures, simple, little fishies. I don’t want them anywhere near me, dead or alive doesn’t matter.

Nurture or Torture: Um… what? Nurture? I don’t usually go around and torture people.

What scared you when you were young: Again, fishes. They were one of the first things I developed a fear of. And our old cat. She was reaaally old and didn’t put up with toddler shenanigans (and I was an annoying toddler), so I ended up with a scratch mark or two. Also, the darkness. Still not a big fan of that one.

Any near death experience: We were driving down a road on Texel (our usual vacation spot, lovely little island) when a log fell off the truck in front of us. Thankfully, it was so windy and the wind pushed the log down to our bumper, otherwise it would have gone straight through the windshield. Asshole fled the scene. Thankfully he was pretty stupid and forgot that he had the telephone number of the company he worked for written in big, bold letters on the side of his truck. We called the cops and the company (company owner and cop tturned out to be close friends), got a free repair at the company’s workshop, a hot chocolate and got to see the driver getting fired. All in all, it was shocking, but okay?

Walk in mysterious liquid or mysterious Forest: Forest. A forest is less likely to kill me on contact.

What is the worst thing possible: So much. Failure, death of loved ones etc.

You go with your heart or brain: A mix.

You like your room dim or bright: Dim is fine. Unless it’s night time. Then I prefer a slightly illuminated room. So I can see the monsters that are creeping up on me.

Who would kill you, your mum or dad: My Dad. By accident. He’s a really bad driver.

Evilest thing you ever done: I’ve stolen stuff in elementary school by accident and still loose sleep about it to this day…

What did you dress up as last year: Noting. I helped my boyfriend scare his sister’s guests (at their request). The year before that, I went as Harley Quinn, because I had that one still in my closet.

Anything bad happened to you lately: College started last week and I’m already stressed out because I’m taking ten courses…

What is your favorite candy or snack: There are these little gummy piglets my Dutch teacher handed out for movie day. They were nice and they are now sold here in Germany. So yummy.

What Villain would you date: Idk, Hades?

What is your biggest flaw: Being too nice? No, really. Can’t say no.

Favorite scary movie/game: I don’t really watch scary movies/ play scary games, sorry.

What do you find sick: The usual stuff.

Are you a demon or an angel: A human with faults. Although demon sounds like fun. ^^

Random thing about you: I’m afraid of a lot of things concerning transport, but I’m not afraid of flying. I have a weird obsession with reading about plane crashes, so I know a lot about how these happen and feel pretty safe boarding a plane.

sim-boo said: Cant zombies die just like normal sims? I had one that starved to death

Might be. As I said I don’t play zombies very much/ not long enough to see them die, even under my horrible care. Thanks for clarifying that!

fuzzyspork said: I really need to try a BACC one of these days!

I’ve started so many over the years… supernatural ones, castaway ones, BACCs set up in the high north or the desert, BACCs set in the desert AND featuring aliens (Wasteland)… I’ve never gotten very far (short attention span), but I’ve always throughout enjoyed them.

My queue is going strong for another month. Given I don’t refill it in time (College has started again and between that and splitting my time between two households, there isn’t a lot of time left for playing the game), I’ve put some other stuff into the queue (something from my historical hood and something else). So… stay tuned?

katatty-main said: i dunno about vampires being out of the question, the desert gets pretty dark at night!! plus olive makes a fantastic vampire, the whole black widow thing…

I’m from western Europe, so I’ve never even seen a desert. Uh, yes, Olive would be a great vampire, I mean, she’s already got the whole aesthetic… Slowly but surely, Strangetown turns into a wild card. Maybe make it a supernatural sanctuary, @sajlica?

Replies

sajlica said: Yeah, Strangetown is like a wildcard 😀 Vampires would only be off because of too much sun :)) and Veronaville can fit all things nature – plantsims, warewolfs, bigfoot, even vampires as some kind of Twilight story…

(I could totally see Hermia as a sparkling vampire. I mean with all the ~somewhat~ sparkly facepaint/ makeup she’s wearing. Also, the Capps appear to be the more aristocratic members of Veronaville.)

hollywood3015 said: I named both my pits the exact same thing ❤

That’s funny! I think it’s just one of those naming patterns that works quite well for a pair. Hope they don’t fight as much as their mythological counterparts ;D (I’m sure they aren’t).

sajlica said: yeah, also I could totaly see Beakers creating bunch of zombies in their lab… 😀

Yeah, that could definitely happen! XD Or they’d create robots… for world domination purposes (just in case the whole necromancing thing doesn’t work out- or works too well…) To be honest, you could put a lot of SimCreatures in Strangetown and no one would bat an eye. Robots? Heck yeah! Werewolves, Witches? Why not! Plantsims? Sure, as long as there’s enough water! Bigfoot? He’ll probably sweat a lot but I doubt he would look very out of place there (Beaker test subject?). Vampires? Maaaaybe not.
