Stella tried to calm Andromeda: “Everything’s okay. I’m pretty sure nothing’s going to happen to us. I wouldn’t take Percy too seriously on that matter, he can be really paranoid sometimes.”

It didn’t work. The young birth queen jumped up: “Well, I didn’t sign up for this! Actually, I didn’t sign up at all! You lured me into this whole thing! You kidnapped me!”

“Wait, WHAT?!”

Stella turned to Auriga: “No, we didn’t!” Turning to Andromeda she tried to keep her voice calm: “You signed up for this! You knew perfectly well what you would get into and DON’T tell me that I didn’t warn you about the possible consequences!” Stella had warned her, had even tried to talk the young hybrid out of it. Hadn’t it been for the desperate situation on Sixam, she wouldn’t even have considered the possibility of bringing her ‘home’. She wouldn’t have recruited half of her current crew.

Upset, Andromeda scoffed and left the room. Percy laughed sardonically and whispered under his breath, just so loud that Stella could hear it: “You really have a good taste in recruits.”

Edit: Sorry, that’s Percy (Perseus), not Eri!

“Wait, what? We were attacked?!” Auriga, who had previously chatted with Andromeda, now listened attentively.

“No, we weren’t!”, Stella tried to calm the young alien, “There was just some anomaly in the atmosphere and we were hovering too low, and it pulled us closer to earth and our devices failed and then gravity happened. That’s all!”

“Actually”, Percy interrupted her, “I don’t think it was an anomaly. There were pretty huge forces working against us. That wasn’t just bad fortune. Something either went horribly wrong or someone wanted us down!”

Andromeda exploded: “Oh, I knew it! I knew it was a bad idea to join you freaks! For watcher’s sake! Bubbles!”

Stella rolled her eyes. The young hybrids and their irresponsible behaviour could really be a pain in the neck. Next to her, her second-in-command scoffed:

“I don’t think dragging the humans into this is a good idea. You know how they usually react.”

“They are hybrids, they were raised on SimEarth. They tend to forget the dangers. And times changed. While I went to one of their colleges under the disguise of being a hybrid I met an actual PT who relocated to earth and lived there. Human wife, kids, house, garden, everything. Granted, the place where he lived was a little bit weird, but I think humans are more accepting of us now than forty, fifty years ago.”

“Alright, but I still don’t think that that’s a good idea. But I think we have other problems right now- what the heck was that force that dragged us down?”

No one had noticed that the youngest, Lyra, walked over to the little radio sitting on a desk across the room. Stella had encountered them before. These small things, often running on battery had been popular during her college time. Lyra examined it:

“Hey, I think there’s a cassette inside!” After another short examination she found the on switch. Old timey music filled the room.

“What the hell, Lyra?” Stella shook her head. Eri rose from the moldered couch and headed for the little radio as well: “Well, maybe it’s not useless. We could try to contact some humans. Maybe they can help us!”

Lyra grabbed him by the wrist: “But first you dance with me!”

“Well, I think we should try to get a signal out there as soon as possible!”

“Don’t you think we already tried to contact the other GSCs, Percy? GSC #12 was supposed to be near us but I can’t get a damn signal out here!”

“Eri, calm down!”, Stella groaned. She knew that Eri could be a real drama queen sometimes. “I think I saw a switch box outside. Does someone happen to know how such a low tech thing works?”

One of the PTs, Auregia, raised her hand: “My dad used to work in a scrapyard. I helped him sometimes. I’ll have a look on it.”

“Try again.”

“Already did. Twice, Captain.”

“So what?”

“…you really screwed this up, you know? We don’t even know where we are!”

“Actually, I think I know where we are.”
