“Did she say yes?”
“Of course she said yes, you stupid space squid!”
Still my absolutely favourite proposal.

“Hey, there, don’t cry!” Stella wasn’t very keen on having the girl in front of her crying hysterically and maybe passing out again. “ I think you can stay here for a while. There’s a human settlement right next to us and we plan on building some huts anyway.”
Roxie stopped sobbing: “Really?”
“Yes.”
“What about that redhead?”
“You heard him? Don’t worry. Most of the aliens here aren’t big fans of humans but they won’t hurt you.”
The blonde Sim smiled: “I have some supplies at my truck. If someone would come with me, we could get them. It’s mostly textiles, tools and some other stuff- we used up most of our food and water- but you can have them.”
“That would be nice.”
“I can come with you!”, Auriga volunteered, “I want to keep an eye on you. I’m pretty sure no Sim should ever get as hot as you were when we found you and I want to make sure you don’t have permanent damage.”
“It started a few months ago. There was a cosmic shower. No one expected it. It wasn’t even supposed to hit SimEarth. But it did. The impact alone killed thousands and most of our technology broke down. Some of us made it into shelters, but not all. The weather started to act weird. Everything went down.
We were three… we were looking for survivors… an unaffected settlement… now I’m alone… and the truck broke down and I ran out of water…” She started to sob.
Stella and the woman settled into the kitchen, where Auriga joined them.
Roxie gorged the first drink down, then another, while Stella explained to her what had happened to them. When she finished, Roxie nodded: “So you didn’t know what happened?”
“No.”
“Well, basically, the world ended.”
“Hi!” Stella bent down. The blonde looked at her for a second, then her eyes widened: “You’re green!”
“Great. I knew that was a bad idea.”, Percy scoffed.
Stella snapped: “Oh shut up, you squid! Go and annoy someone else.”
He left the room, not without glancing at the newcomer furiously.
“You look terrible, dear! What’s your name?”
“Roxie.”
“Hey, Roxie, I’m Stella. Do you need something?”
The young Sim, eyes still wide open, coughed: “Could I get something to drink, please?”
“Why does she have to stay here? We don’t know what she wants!”
“She’s unconscious. What harm can she do?”
“Maybe she wasn’t alone?”
“Hush, I think she wakes up!”
Auriga and Almeric were the first ones down the hill. Auriga kneeled down, examining the young Sim: “She’s way too hot. Hey, you? Are you okay?”
The tall blonde opened her eyes and tried to stand up.
“Don’t.” , Auriga advised her, just as the young woman fainted again, “Eri, we could need some help over here!”
The very next day, an expedition consisting of Auriga, Cyngus, Almeric and Eri (Aldric stayed at home with Lyra and the newborn) search the area around the little settlement for building materials, when…
“Uh, guys?”
While Aldric and Stella discuss these matters, Lyra goes into labour. Meet baby girl Enif Luna. Andromeda is a proud aunt.
“Hey, Stella Bella! Wait!”
Stella sighed and turned around: “Hello Aldric. Have you seen Almeric today?”
“I think he’s out hiking.”
“In this heat?”
Aldric shrugged: “You know him. The twins and the cramped space drive him mad. He just needs time for himself. Anyway, I want to talk to you.”
“Okay?”
“Yeah.”, he smiled, “I was thinking about… you know, settling. We can’t stay out in this heat with only tents and a small hut. I mean, you have the base, but it’s cramped, too, and we wouldn’t fit in there, too. We could do something… build something that at least keeps the heat and the dirt out. Something a little bit more steady than the hut we have right now? We could build something for you, too if you want?” He looked at her nervously and smiled when she finally nodded.
“That is a very good idea, Aldric! I think I can ask Eri and Cyngus if they’d be willing to help you.”
“So it’s set?”
“Yes. How are the twins?”
“You wanna see them?”
“I’d love to!”
