The Children’s Home

Karen Gast is the warden of the recently opened Children’s Home (commonly known as “The Orphanage”). She has taken in four fosterlings, Marsha Bruenig, Orlando Bertino, Chandler Platz and Chloe Gonzaga. Orlando has been the bane of the neighbourhood for a long time (beating up countless other kids) but has recently become much nicer- thanks to Karen. He’s dating Chloe Bruty, but also has his eyes on the cute boy next door. Marsha isn’t interested in romance and focuses on her dream of becoming a ballet dancer. Young Chloe and Chandler just enjoy being able to be kids again!

The other Tellerman family

Jan Tellerman, best friend (and former wife- it’s a long story!) of Komei Tellerman, moved to Middleground to aspire a career in Politics. After her boyfriend Leo Depiesse left her for a younger woman, Jan focussed all her energy on her career and climbed the career ladder quickly. She recently started dating local firefighter Alon Stahlkamp, but isn’t too serious about it- she just wants to have some fun!

The Hogan family

Andrea Hogan was a successful businesswoman before selling her business and pursuing a career as a cook. A loner at heart, Andrea bought a cat, Tabby, to keep her company. After a terrible break up with Brandon Lillard, she met local bartender Pao Mace. Things quickly progressed and after a whirlwind romance and marriage, Rufus was born. Andrea is content with her life and doesn’t want any more kids, but family sim Pao longs for a bigger family, and let himself get abducted by aliens behind Andrea’s back. He’s regretting his choice, though.

The Spitzig family

Kaylynn Spitzig met Ivy Copur while down on her luck and was invited to live with her if she agreed to help her manage her new condition (she had recently turned into a plantsim). She eventually fell in love with Leo Depiesse, then-boyfriend of Jan Tellerman, and got knocked up by him, which caused her to look for her own place. After a dramatic break-up, Leo moved in with her and soon, twins Tamsin and Eliphas were born. Kaylynn got pregnant again soon after and had another set of twins, Margery and Gwydion! With the four kids and Aphrodite, Ivy’s parting gift to Kaylynn, life’s pretty hectic.

The Copur family

Ivy Copur is a devoted farmer and breeder of Pointers. Once upon a time, she had a short relationship with Remington Harris (before the two of them split amicably) and a one night stand with Brandon Lillard before she figured out that the whole love-and-sex-thing just wasn’t for her. After a pesticide accident, she became a plantsim. Ivy accidentally created a plant baby, Poppy Copur, who’s now all grown up and away at college. She also got abducted by aliens, which resulted in little Cressida Copur. After her longtime roommate Kaylynn moved out, she decided to focus on breeding again. Ares, son of the late Zeus and Hera, mate of Athene and brother of Aphrodite, who lives with Kaylynn, is now the proud father of three little puppies, Artemis, Apollo and Demeter.

The Tellerman family

Komei met Joe through common friends. It seemed perfect and their relationship progressed quickly and they got engaged. Soon after, Komei caught Joe flirting with Sandy Bruty (one of Joe’s former girlfriends). He was willing to forgive him, but when Joe tried to… *ahem* persuade his ex Christy to let his son live with them after not acknowledging him for years, Komei knew he had to break up with him. He eventually adopted Brittany Parker (now Tellerman). He is currently working as a Coach and is on his way to become a Hall of Famer. Komei actually took Joe back after Joe worked through his commitment issues and the two recently married, but Komei’s still a bit wary. Brittany is a bright young girl who is currently dating Andrew Harris- Joe’s son’s half-brother. 

The Harris family

Remington and his friend Komei moved to Middleground in search of adventure. He briefly dated Ivy Copur before falling in love with Christy Stratton, who had just been left by her former boyfriend Joe Carr- and who was pregnant. Timothy Stratton was born soon after. Remington and Christy married and had three more kids: the twins Andrew and Benjamin and recently, little Abigail. Timothy has just returned from college, where he fell in love with his childhood friend Poppy Copur- after breaking another girls heart. He worries about being just like his father- his biological father, that is. Andrew is currently dating Brittany Tellerman, stepdaughter of Joe. It’s a bit weird, but everyone just goes along with it. Benjamin is still coming to terms with his own sexuality. The twins are about to leave for college soon.

The Bruty-Lillard clan

Sandy and Brandon are both romance sims and had a whole string of affairs before settling down with each other. Sandy briefly dated Joe Carr (before he got mad that she was seeing other people) and Brandon had an affair with Andrea Hogan and a one night stand with Ivy Copur. After Chloe was born- she was an accident, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t dearly loved-, Brandon decided to ask Sandy to marry him, and she said yes. It’s technically an open marriage, but neither of them ever felt the need to hook up with anyone else. Chloe is taking after her parents and is currently dating Orlando Bertino from the orphanage.
