He’s just so desperate to have friends that aren’t related to him, it seems. XD

They really are. Man, this is going to be so messy…

NOOOOOOO!

I’m having very “good” luck with the sims in this neighbourhood. The only thing I’m remotely responsible for is Ivy becoming a plantsim (since I downloaded a mod that fixes the broken calculator for how many plants a sim must spray before he can become a plantsim) the rest is all the sims acting up and just “luck”. They are just… wow.

I always forget to put sims without a wohoo partner on birth control and it has finally come back to me…

The amazing vanishing Sims

Yup. I had a backup from after this play session. How “lucky”. XD

Wow, thank you for your quick replies!

simsllama said: If I understood you, you can’t just simply change the type of a subhood by just renaming them. You have to fix its name in order to restore the neighbourhood.

questforsims said: you have to go and fiddle with the neighborhood id, right now the game is reading it as a downtown because in the neighborhood file that’s what its marked as. I believe you can crack open the file in SimPE and manually change it’s marker? Though it might be best to message meetme about it since she’s the queen of neighborhood corruption. okay so, I did this just as a test but what should theoretically work is, you need to go into SimPE, open the neighborhood.package (inside N00X or whatever) Open the IDNO, and you’ll see two things, one is the parent name, which you’ll want to change to whatever you’re new ID is, and the other is Neighborhood Type, you’re going to want to set it to normal, and since yours was a downtown it should be set as such. Hope that helps 🙂

Thank you both for your help! Things like this always show me what a noob at SimPE I am (I can change genetics and that’s it). I changed the IDNO, but the neighbourhood still doesn’t show up. I guess I messed something up (probably playing it in its incomplete/corrupted state- although I now have to question why it showed up in neighbourhood menu in the first place). I’ll try it again with an unplayed copy and if that doesn’t work… I guess I’ll just play it (let’s be real: I’ll just fool around in it for a while before I get bored again and return to my other hoods) as intended? (A downtown to an empty neighbourhood)

Thanks again! I was surprised at how quick you were. I think that really shows how awesome the Sims 2 community is! ❤
