aondaneedles replied to your post “Hello, thanks so much for your amazing Parenthood clutter set. One…”

As far as I’m concerned, all of them have weird, boxy shadows arpund them when placed…

Well, that’s mortifying since i spent a lot of time editing shadows on the sculptures that have them. I don’t see how that could be possible for all of them though, because several things were cloned from the blue and white vase, which doesn’t even have a shadow mesh. So, again if you or anyone else could get some screenshots, that would really help.

Fired up the game before I get out of here, and these are the shadows i see. I made them from taking some top down shots in the game and editing them into black and white. Do you guys see something else, or do you just not like these? It’s okay if you don’t, but I’m looking for constructive criticism so it can be fixed.

Oh no, sorry! I was talking about the pictures! The other clutter ist just fine, so don’t worry!

This is what I’m seeing when I’m putting up the pictures. Once again, sorry for the confusion!

katatty-main said: i dunno about vampires being out of the question, the desert gets pretty dark at night!! plus olive makes a fantastic vampire, the whole black widow thing…

I’m from western Europe, so I’ve never even seen a desert. Uh, yes, Olive would be a great vampire, I mean, she’s already got the whole aesthetic… Slowly but surely, Strangetown turns into a wild card. Maybe make it a supernatural sanctuary, @sajlica?

So, Strangetown as a go-to place for all the weird creatures :)) Maybe put them in an asylum and see who survives…Well, except for zombies…Can they even die? Like, from drowning or fire? I never actually played them. xD

But my idea was to make other hoods a little more interesting, and since it is Halloween time, what better way than with some supernaturals, that’s why it is 1 per hood rule. 🙂 But it turns out there are a lot of great storylines that you can mix & match, I love both Florence and Summerdreams for plantsim, and Cordials and Capps as vampires…Also Leod McGreggor & Bigfoot and John Mole & Lola Curious are my new OTPs :))

I quickly googled it (I don’t really play zombiesa lot) and apparently the only way to kill them is feeding them to the cowplant (please correct me if I’m wrong).

Yeah, there are just too many interesting possibilities (I’m particulary hooked on putting werewolves in Veronaville, somehow… *glances at kattaty’s gorgeous Veronaville makeovers*). I’m looking forward seeing what you’ll come up with!

sajlica said: yeah, also I could totaly see Beakers creating bunch of zombies in their lab… 😀

Yeah, that could definitely happen! XD Or they’d create robots… for world domination purposes (just in case the whole necromancing thing doesn’t work out- or works too well…) To be honest, you could put a lot of SimCreatures in Strangetown and no one would bat an eye. Robots? Heck yeah! Werewolves, Witches? Why not! Plantsims? Sure, as long as there’s enough water! Bigfoot? He’ll probably sweat a lot but I doubt he would look very out of place there (Beaker test subject?). Vampires? Maaaaybe not.

Ok, I got overly excited about this. xD Sorry in advance for a long post.

So, here is my idea:

Pleasantview – witches (Cassandra is good, Bella is neutral, and maybe Lillith/Jennifer Burb as evil witches? Though I would like to see one male warlock instead of 3 witches)
Strangetown – aliens (duh)
Veronaville – warewolf (Mercutio and Tybalt)
Bluewater Village – plantsim (Florence is meant to be a plantsim!)
Downtown – zombies (Tricous gone wrong, entire hood filled with zombies)
Riverblossom Hills – bigfoot+McGreggor OTP (explains the skirt)
Desiderata Valley – robots (Aspir makes them, and Mole is on a mission to stop them from taking over the world)
BellaDona Cove – vampires (Cordial sisters and Connor Weir)

or…if we break some cannons:

PV – witches
ST – zombies!!! (bear with me – Olive resurects them from her yard, Beakers clone them for world domination, Grunts fight them to save the planet)
VV – plantsim (Summerdream family with a big a** forest behind that big a** house)
Bluewater Village – bigfoot (Tinkers or Ramirez capture him on a holiday and exploit him for work)
Downtown – robots (Chester has a store and is making (love to) robots in the city)
Riverblossom Hills – warewolf (I guess I see mcGreggor to be (with) quite a hairy guy in both cases…)
Desiderata Valley – aliens! (they move from Strangetown to another *almost* tropical city, on a flee from zombies. As soon as they arrive they stir this quiet town. Natasha and Chloe hit it off, Stella Terano and Nick Contrary as well, and John Mole, SCIA agent stops doing his job when he realises he has more in common with Lola than he thought…)
BC – vampire (Cordials are my new vampire cannon)

@aondaneedles and everyone else – what do you think?

Some random comments on your ideas in no particular order: I like your idea about zombies gone wrong in both Downtown and Strangetown. It’s usually so hard to match them to a proper hood (due to them being in a weird place as University creatures). How about John Burb as a warlock? But I can only see him as a good one… I guess putting the plantsims in Veronaville could work surprisingly well considering they are probably the closest thing to real fairies in Sims 2 (apart from witches, but they are… witches.). Oh, I bet the Strangetown aliens (plus Stella) would really stir up trouble in Desiderata. And I could totally see John as one of those “Men in Black” (in training, he’s pretty low on that spy career ladder), who then falls for one of the ‘subjects’ he’s supposed to take care of… Uh. I’ve never seen the Cordials played as vampires, but I’m also kind of intigued… Belladonna Cove seems just like the perfect living space for the modern, cosmopolitan vampire…

Some simsverse religions ideas:

crispsandkerosene:

(Feel free to share your own input!)

Faith of the Watcher (from TSM): belief that a divinity, the Watcher, observes and influences the lives of all sims.
> Peteran: god is benevolent, caring. In such’s image sims should aim for greater goodness in all things.
> Jacoban: god is fanciful and cruel, sims created to be their playthings. Life’s aim lies in panache and roles, where all orders and all scripts must be obeyed.
> Jeffrean: god’s eye is oft turned half away, questioning but immobile. A sim’s path is theirs to trace, and the Watcher will only watch.
(Named after TwoJeffs, the creator of ACR, because autonomy.)
> ?: all sims are but vessels of god’s thoughts and actions. The watcher lives within all of us.
(I wanted to name this one after this person on MTS who was super controlling of their sims, but I can’t remember their name :P)

Faith of the Grim: belief that Death is a driving and influent force in the lives of all sims – beyond its simple inevitability. The Grim is at times a force to be feared, and at others a fate you’ll great like an old friend.
> Cult of the Undeath: according to whom the Grim can be joined in its state of unlife, and sims of certain afflictions (vampires, zombies) have attained a superior way of being.

Old Magic Animism: a more naturalistic faith which reveres the inherent magical proprieties of certain beings, objects and locations. Of course, Magic Town is one of its predominant holy sites.

Grilled Cheese Cult: a disturbing faith that pushes the grilled cheese aspiration to its logical – and creepy – conclusion.

Alien Empire Cult: belief in ancient myths and legends rediscovered through the eyes of the modern sim. Aliens are believed to be gods and the Earth their creation. Members of this cult are often half-stuck between reality and dreams.

Bella Goth Cult: a new age faith that is half celebrity worship, half fascination with the mysterious green skinned being from outer space. What started out as half a joke has devolved in something much more sinister.

College- more wtf

aondaneedles:

Was able to solve my grade problem. Ran into even more problems.

A) Apparently, I have to take two exercise courses in history. Somehow, one of them is not in the university calendar. At all. And someone thought it would be a good idea to let the person who does all the counselling go. Without filling the position until mid-October. Which is way after my deadline. Also, every exercise course conflicts with my compulsory secondary education courses. Every. Single. One.

B) The woman who does the counselling for secondary education is on holiday. I can’t reach her either.

C) I could probably ask the history students council for help regarding the history stuff. But they only have their counselling hours up to last week posted online. I’m commuting roughly 1 hour back and forth between my hometown and college and really don’t feel like wasting gas.

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

I was able to solve most of this. Will still have to visit campus again tomorrow to solve the issues regarding overlapping courses, but apart from that, everything seems fine. For now.

Exercise Bike Fix

simnopke:

image

With this mod, sims stop using the Exerto Super Exercise Bike when they’re in bad mood, hungry, sleepy, feel uncomfortable or need to go to the toilet, as if they were using other skill objects. Originally sims don’t care about their needs at all while using the bike and they can die for that reason.

Conflicts
The mod can conflict with mods that change the way the exercise bike works. Does not conflict with

mods that change the autonomy of using the bike.

Can anyone help me out with a vacation issue?

– I want to add the default vacation destinations (with default locals and tourists) to my neighbourhood.

– In a brand new test ‘hood, adding the VDs (vacation destinations) worked fine and locals and tourists both appeared. The Traveller family was also in the family bin.

– I had V001 hidden (following this method) when first creating my custom neighbourhood (Pine Lake) but now I have unhidden it and added VDs. Locals appeared, but no tourists and the Travellers are not in the family bin.

– I suspect that the problem is because V001 was initially hidden, so maybe it’s not possible, but does anyone know if I can force my neighbourhood to recognize/add this folder and make those tourists and Travellers appear?

– If that is not possible, does anyone have ideas of another way to get those tourists? (Would it be a very bad thing if I copies their character files from one neighbourhood to another? Probably…)

Hi Keoni, you said, you just have some maxis add-ons. Could you share them?? I started playing TS2 for the first time anyway >_<

keoni-chan:

Oh my gosh, anon, you have no idea. My new DL folder is only Maxis Add-ons (and a few thing I can’t live without *stuffs clutter out of sight*) So if it’s okay with you, I’ll start with paintings and I’ll be doing the rest of them later this week.
