Germans. The only ones that would comment on a post regarding the potential abolishment of the clock changes regarding daylight-saving time with “Why is no one reporting that most of the interviewees want the daylight-saving time to become the new standard time? Do they want to go behind our backs and make “winter time” the new standard! Typical move from the European parliament!!!111!!!”

We really are a nation of complainers.

(Meanwhile, half of Saxony has to deal with an angry nazi mob and a surprising lot of people are like “Nah, they are not Nazis.” Yeah sure. Shouting “Adolf Hitler is our idol” and doing the Hitler salute- definitely not Nazis.)

So there were a few weird moments during my oral exams that still crack me up (also finished both of them with a B+ so… woooo!)

Examiner 1: So you were really good at remembering little details. Very graphic description of the Ripper killings. I could have done without ever knowing them and I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight, but good for you. To be fair, I’m kinda concerned.

Examiner 1: So, now that you’ve proven that you are able to read and comprehend a Wikipedia page, can you tell me something about…

Examiner 2: So why do you think the sovereigns tried to make Henry IV abdicate?
Me: Because they were asshol- oh my god. OH MY GOD. I’m sorry.
Examiner 2: …
Examiner 2: No. No, that’s fair.

Went down a rabbit hole of old tumblr text posts. You can literally read my health and sanity deteriorating (along with my English skills) over the past year.

Just one more week and I’m done with this part of school. Finally. I’m gonna hang in there and then I’ll take a nice vacation!

So for my last oral exam, I got a very narrow topic to talk about by my examiner (after not getting anything at all and then a “sorry, your topic is far too broad).

I’m supposed to talk about some historians’ opinions about a historical event. The thing is, this very same list of people with the very same arguments I’m supposed to be talking about are on the historical event’s Wikipedia page. So the prof either wrote the Wikipedia page or just looked at it, went “Eh, close enough” and then assigned me the topic.

I think I want to become a prof.

Added a link for the Sarah Love Moonbeam Trail thing to my sidebar. It’s called “Love and other misadventures” because I’m cheesy like that.

Going to play some Middleground tonight. I’m really missing the game as I haven’t been able to properly play in a few weeks.

Top 10 Favourite Series

Now that’s something I can do!

I got tagged by @holleyberry and @thesimtraveler . Thank you so much!

Rules: Using gifs, and without using titles, list your top ten favorite tv shows of all time. They don’t have to be in any particular order. Tag however many people you like.

And once again, obscure German television:

As always, if you want to do this and no one tagged you, consider this your tag.

Movie Meme

I was tagged by @holleyberry and @lesyasun . Thank you!

I’m actually more of a tv series person, so let’s see if I can find 10 movies I love. Expect a lot of childhood favourites, animation movies and a few obscure german comedies thrown in for good measure- in no particular order.

We’re now entering obscure German comedy movie territory…

As always, I don’t tag anyone in particular. If you want to do this, feel free to feel tagged (no really, just tell them I tagged you. I won’t tell!).

If you’d told me three years ago that I would one day write a term paper about the diplomatic relations of the President of the United States Donald Trump, I would have laughed you in the face.

Yet here I am.

How am I supposed to write about Trump’s policy on Russia when the president himself doesn’t seem to know what his policy is?
