Same over here. Although we also have the option to do something else (like an essay or short review) to pass, but depending on the type of “something else “ we get fewer credit points by doing this and depending on the subject, we won’t be able to get enough CPs. And in some subjects we’re actually supposed to write a certain number of term papers.

Late, late Replies and Politics

Sorry guys, been really busy with university.

morbidcheburashka said: STOCHOLM SYNDROME

Yeah, probably. God, I hope so… Although it could make for an interesting storyline…

holleyberry said: He usually does that with Loki in my game.

XD

Yay! I just hope the baby gets his mother’s eyebrows.

Let him beat up your family, Lazlo!

pascal-curious said: Cutest dads ever!

They are. Wouldn’t have guessed that Vidcund would be such a great dad (he’s very reclusive in my game).

(Unhappy Ripp won’t get into college)

squeezleprime said: poor Ripp! bless his cute heart!

sims2simmies said: Aww… I’m sure if Ripp starts to believe in himself and keep up with the homework then he will make it. ^.^

Not bloody likely. Unfortunately, it’s Friday evening and he has to leave on Sunday for college or he’ll grow up. Poor thing, I think it’s the first sim that I played that won’t go to college.

littleblondesim said: This house is gonna be a hot mess real quick.

Giant hot mess, but I love it. So much potential drama!

(Ripp trying to get a drink)

didilysims said: Trying to be sneaky and blend in. Is it working???

It would be more effective if his best friends mum wouldn’t be there…

nestadaughter said: Maybe he wants to hit on Johnny’s hot mom.

Oh dear. Probably a very early mid-life crisis (quarter-life crisis?)?

And now for something completely different: politics.

simsllama said: Oh my god, that’s crazy and aren’t they even aware that there are 7 billion people on this planet?

Yeah, but are they aren’t german. We must overrun the world with german babies! *irony* (Seriously, I thought that these ideas were left behind in the forties, back where they belong… Well, not really, but I think you get the gist.)

littleblondesim said: please tell me these people don’t hold power in Germany

Hm, that one’s difficult to answer. They got like 20% in one German federal land when they voted back in October (I think?) but the more established parties don’t feel like collaborating with them. The problem is that they try to catch the people who feel left behind by the state and are afraid of the refugees (the old ignorance + fear). Nevermind that they actually want to water down the social benefits and make everyone but the big fishes feel miserable.

speakinginsimlish said: that’s an.. interesting idea. 😂 as simsllama said, there are over 7 billion people on the planet and we’re doing a pretty good job fucking it up already, so more women should probably be buying sex toys!

You know what’s the worst about it? I didn’t notice it at first  until a friend spelt it out: They basically say that women only care about their primal urges and don’t consciously decide to have children… Wow.

Some other “great ideas” the AfD had in the past:

– women who get divorced or have a child “out of wedlock” shouldn’t get any benefits! How dare they!

-patchwork and rainbow families are evil (never mind that their leader is divorced and she, her new husband and their children are a patchwork family…)

-bring back the Mark! (That’s from back when they were still normal until the right wing idiots took over. It’s still a bad idea)

-shoot at refugees trying to cross country frontiers! And yes, even children!

-liberally using social media to stir hate

Bought Spore yesterday because I really wanted it when it came out (in freaking 2008) and it was like 9 bucks.
Is there something wrong with me or does my magnificent Needles-Maximus from the planet Tufo indeed look like Jar-Jar-Binks (or however that thing is spelled)?

Weirdest news of the day…

Meanwhile in Germany, our very own dangerous nuthead party (AfD) decided that they are against sex toys because apparently women don’t want children then… They also want every woman to have two children so that “the German race doesn’t die out”. If they weren’t so dangerous, they would be such laughing stocks… It’s pretty pathetic.

Dear Americans,
go vote. I won’t tell you that you should vote for X or Y, because quite honestly, there are so many posts doing that out there and I don’t think that a German telling you whom to vote will have a great impact. But I’m telling you to GO VOTE! If you’re registered to vote, go. If you don’t, you might regret it for the next 4 years. It can have a severe impact on your life. BREXIT, for example happened because people were so sure that Britain would vote Remain, that they didn’t go vote. We know how that turned out. If you don’t want to wake up and find yourself in a reality you don’t like, go vote. During the 30s in my country, many people didn’t trust the parties in parliament anymore or feared the NSDAP (Hitler’s party) and didn’t vote. We know how that turned out. Many people world wide fight for their right to vote; and many die. Your election might not be ideal, your single vote will not swing the election around. But if all of you people who feel unhappy with the candidates or the election system stay at home, your vote will count. And maybe in a way you won’t like. If you don’t go vote you’ve only got yourself to blame. So please go vote.

I don’t know what happened, but when I came back from grocery shopping, the modem worked again! (We suspect that the company that powers our internet connection accidentally shut us off again. Happened before.) So Replies a day earlier, yaay!

holleyberry said: Does it need a battery?

No, that’s the weird thing. I don’t know how it powers itself, but I’m glad it works again.

nestadaughter said: Well, whatever he’s doing, he’d better not take any advice from Vidcund.

I think Vidcund is busy…moving somewhat rhythmically in front of the stereo.

didilysims said: You’ve got the needed mods–I’m sure your game will be fine.

Yeah, I think it will be fine. And if not, what am I going to do about it? *shrug*

holleyberry said: Look! You added a door.

I mean, if you keep a Sim imprisoned in your lab, you should at least make an effort not to let him escape…

didilysims said: That gym looks really great!

I’m glad it turned out! the way it did I really wanted to keep the pool but wasn’t sure how. And then I just… tried some variations and this one stuck.

holleyberry said: I have them greet passersbys and lure them into the dungeon to experiment on them. Maybe that will spice things up.

Uh, that sounds interesting. Unfortunately, there aren’t many passersbys (I’m using the cleaned up version where only Crystal and Circe’s friends remain. I might let her abduct her barkeeper friend. Or maybe one of the college sims will sign up for a “job”?

(Sorry for my lacklustre English today. Finished my English term paper yesterday and am quite exhausted language wise.)

@holleyberry: I’m pretty sure it’s gone for good (the modem is dead, as you can see. No little green power light). Might have something to do with how it was installed (its hanging out of the wall and is only kept up by two cookie boxes), its age (it’s over 10 years old) or the fact that it is covered in dust (maybe it short-circuited?).

I will answer the other replies I got over the past few days the day after tomorrow when I’m at our vacation home in England. A queue is up and running and will supply you all with pictures for another week.
