Nervous can’t help but feel a bit aloof. He never had any family, he never had anyone that care for him, except for Circe… maybe. He isn’t too sure about that, now… But he knew what was expected of him, what he was supposed to do. Now? Suddenly, he’s free to go anywhere, free to do whatever he likes… but what does he want to do with his life?

Olive wants to offer Nervous a warm welcome, she really does, but casting powerful spells is exhausting and she isn’t the youngest anymore. She tells Nervous where to find the spare bedroom, promises him a party tomorrow and heads to bed.

After Circe arrived home, she headed straight to the basement.

“Nervous, dear?”

He flushed: “Yes?”

“Oh, I met the most interesting woman today. You don’t happen to know her, do you? An Olive Specter…”

Circe enjoyed seeing him wriggling like a worm while he searched for an innocent answer.

“It’s… it’s just someone I met… I always come back, you know that! I won’t run away, I promise!”

“Don’t be silly, of course I know that.”

“You won’t tell him?”

“No, I won’t. Don’t worry, he won’t hurt you, dear.”

Circe smirked. Their test subject was an idiot and a fool at that.

Nervous came back and apologised for running away earlier. Olive accepts that he probably needs more time before she can tell him. At least she was able to lure him inside as she has a gift for him and doesn’t feel comfortable doing such a private thing in the front yard.

(Yes, Olive, that definitely won’t make him run away screaming!)

Coincidentally (?), he left soon after.
