I’m going to upgrade. Keep the old PC and switch out whatever needs to be switched. Although I’m on a budget, so depending on what else needs to be replaced, I may or may not get a new graphics card. I currently play on an old 2008 gaming graphics card which the friend that repaired my PC (my old graphics card broke while I was writing my “Bachelorarbeit”- which was extremely inconvenient!). It’s fine but doesn’t play nice with my more CC heavy save- hence why I’m currently playing a low CC game just for fun.

Thanks. It was a downloaded lot. I bulldozed it and rebuilt it from scratch. It’s working now (and I no longer get weird stares from my Sims).

Yeah, they’re all up to date. I think it’s just age. I mean, it’s now 4 years old (and my original graphics card already croaked). The Windows installation has been slightly buggy since last year, so that’s probably the issue. Thank god Win7 is not that expensive.

Yes, you can turn it off somewhere in the options. I did it. And then I saw the “brand-new cool feature OMG!!11!” to share your experiences on twitter and facebook. That and the fact that they made the Store Mode default, sealed the deal. (That and the features why I orgiginally gave up Sims 3) I only installed the Base Game(!!!) and still got the “cool” online features of Showtime. You know, the Sims 2 store/exchange/whatever was atleast decent!

It was! I don’t even think they learned the basics… The teens had to go to school and work and while Gavin was too tired when he came home from work, Ginger had a serious fun deficit when she was done with hers and Gavins homework (I do have a homework sometimes mod but somehow they got always homework why the twins were toddlers (actually, now I’m not sure if Gavin didn’t start working after the twins grew up- when he sold the playground stuff, he hadn’t one, that’s for sure)

No, that’s all in-game. If they read it and it’s adressed for their spuse but not by them, they will get furious with the Sim and a serious realtionship drop- enough to break up will occure. However, they won’t get the “Cheated on” memory and the furiousness and the relationship drop will decrease fast (they will soon have “forgotten” it- in fact very fast, like 6-10 hours I think?)

Some libraries are for free- usually the ones that are under the churchs’ sponsorship. But still you got a point there, they don’t provide every book and the big ones usually charge a fee. The growing expenses for books are alarming, it’s even worse when there’s only one publisher whose publishing the book- which isn’t normal for books still under the copyright law. And if you need one book for school and it’s on the curriculum, they are free to charge (sure, there is the “Buchpreisbindung”, but they can work around this- company and book store wise. And the “brouchiert” thing is getting worse and worse. Personally, I think the rate at which the books start costing more and more is alarming. Sure, everything is inflation-linked, but it’s happening so damn fast. I was lucky that my parents bought me books when I was younger (I got 1,20€ every week until I was 11), but you’re completly right. It’s just not affordable for everyone…

One place that makes me happy and why: Only one? That would be Petone Beach, Lower Hutt, NZ then. I love it and I used to visit it often and now I miss it. It’s beautiful! (others would be my home, my grandparents’ home, my former school, the theater etc…)

How many blankets I sleep under: 1. It’s too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, but I’m too lazy to buy a thinner/thicker one.

Favorite beverage: ¾ orange juice, ¼ sparkling mineral water. In exactly this constellation not more, not less. I’m a bit special when it comes to food and drinks…

The last movie I watched in the cinema was: Dear God… I haven’t been in the cinema for ages. I guess it was “Schutzengel”. It starred Till Schweiger (I guess he played one of the Nazis in Inglourious Basterd, but I didn’t watch it, so I’m not sure) and I went there with a friend who liked him. It was a so-so movie.

Three things I can’t live without: Family, Friends and my two dogs. My computer and W-Lan come a close fourth.

Something I plan on learning: Hm… Anglistics & Dramatics (why I’m going to college). I also want to learn Italian so I can read many of the old operas etc. in their original language.

A piece of advise to all my followers: Always listen. People have stories to tell. (Something I have problems with. Listen, not telling stories.^^)
