Ugly, giant windowless shoeboxes

didilysims said: Trying to keep the lot value down? Though that could also be avoided by not building huge empty rooms… Maybe their chief house-builder was actually a vampire.

That would make sense… or someone reaaally hated their job…

The kid I tutor

didilysims said: At least you know you know you have a student who really needs help!

They really do. They have fallen behind schedule and have trouble keeping up even with tutoring (a bit like me in math back when I went to school…). But to be fair, their teacher is shitty (I know her as I went to the same school). Extremly high expectations. Expects a flawless accent from every student, does not approve of limited vocabulary etc. They are in Grade 9, cut them some slack!

Elsewhere!!!

didilysims said: Agreed!

didilysims said: And sometimes I wonder what magic could have been accomplished if plasticbox had had all the EPs with all their building tools and possibilities…

Wow, that would have been awesome! I mean, I don’t mind changing the apartments myself… but all the building tools that were added in the latter EPs (and all the stuff… just wow!)

Oh, don’t worry. I did delete both the cache files immediately and it’s running smoothly again.

(Me decorating an empty neighbourhood instead of doing sth productive)

crystaldollhouse said: Is that a custom map? It looks really nice

Yes, it is by nepheris. It’s called “Maple Lake” and you can find it on modthesims.

didilysims said: It’s looking really good though. 🙂

It does, right? It’s usually “hit and miss” when I try to decorate my neighbourhoods (that’s probably why I’m such a fan of desert neighbourhoods. XD) but I’m really glad about how it turned out!

I suck at Replies…

(Christmas break was extremly busy, sorry)

That’s the one picture of them I took that wasn’t them fighting. They do not get along at all.

Dinner-for-one reblog (beating a dead horse):

didilysims said: I was thinking of this while setting the table for New Year’s. 🙂

XD. Ever watched it (it’s probably on Youtube)? When my grandparents were still alive, my grandfather often imitated James. He was nearly blind, so a few times it was not quite voluntary. ^^

Me debating whether to start a BACC:

katatty-main said: im always attempting to start baccs, too! i never even finish building the starter houses, haha

mooseabides said: Story of my life! Haha.

eulaliasims said: A succinct summary of every bacc I’ve tried to start too.

I feel you. BACCs are hard, especially since I have the attention span of a goldfish, zero patience and have difficulties connecting with self-made Sims… Gets even worse because I had to read so many Victorian novels for college that I kind of want to play a Victorian/ old timey BACC… Yeah, that ain’t happening…

Non-Sims text post about I’m a celebrity – get me out of here:

asimminggibbon said: Big in Ireland!

Good to know! My parents watch it religiously and since it started yesterday, it’s dominating the news. Wondered if this was just something German people inexplicitly love.

Someone was concerned about my WTF post, but I’ve since deleted it. I actually answered it via reply, but I’m not sure if it reached you. Nothing bad happened, just watched the new Sherlock episode (I’m studying English, that’s kinda mandatory XD) and felt the need to express myself.

didilysims said: Aww, cutie. 🙂

She is cute, isn’t she?

holleyberry said: Oh! Since I read backwards i see potential juicy drama!

There is so much drama in that hood, I love it!

holleyberry said: That’s just sexual tension.

Right now, she is pretty mad at the whole Curious clan except for Pascal (whom she doesn’t have any chemistry with). She fought with the girls back when she was in the welcome waggon and every time she talks to Vidcund, they end up arguing… We’ll see how this turns out.

littleblondesim said: she’s so cute!

littleblondesim said: wait, does she have eyebrows?

Oh, she does! They are just a rather dirty blonde (I’m using Poppet’s V2 hair and eyebrows), so they aren’t very visible on the tan skin tone. If you zoom in and look very closely, you can see them in the first picture.

I don’t know what happened, but when I came back from grocery shopping, the modem worked again! (We suspect that the company that powers our internet connection accidentally shut us off again. Happened before.) So Replies a day earlier, yaay!

holleyberry said: Does it need a battery?

No, that’s the weird thing. I don’t know how it powers itself, but I’m glad it works again.

nestadaughter said: Well, whatever he’s doing, he’d better not take any advice from Vidcund.

I think Vidcund is busy…moving somewhat rhythmically in front of the stereo.

didilysims said: You’ve got the needed mods–I’m sure your game will be fine.

Yeah, I think it will be fine. And if not, what am I going to do about it? *shrug*

holleyberry said: Look! You added a door.

I mean, if you keep a Sim imprisoned in your lab, you should at least make an effort not to let him escape…

didilysims said: That gym looks really great!

I’m glad it turned out! the way it did I really wanted to keep the pool but wasn’t sure how. And then I just… tried some variations and this one stuck.

holleyberry said: I have them greet passersbys and lure them into the dungeon to experiment on them. Maybe that will spice things up.

Uh, that sounds interesting. Unfortunately, there aren’t many passersbys (I’m using the cleaned up version where only Crystal and Circe’s friends remain. I might let her abduct her barkeeper friend. Or maybe one of the college sims will sign up for a “job”?

(Sorry for my lacklustre English today. Finished my English term paper yesterday and am quite exhausted language wise.)

Replies

Sorry, it took me a while to read through your comments. I’m busy with my term paper (English studies, writing about Gatsby because he’s really big in Germany) right now, but almost finished. Yay!

(Regarding my post about how I want to play LFT)

holleyberry said: You could also combine/break up houses to keep things interesting.

Uhh, that might be a good idea. Spice things up… Yeah, I can see myself doing that. Thanks!

(The Single’s part including General Buzz Grunt where Chloe did NOTHING)

holleyberry said: Get up and do some damage Chloe.

She was a bit too civil. How can you have a feud with someone when you don’t fight each other every time you see them?!

(Crystal hitting Olive)

holleyberry said: That’s dangerous Crystal.

strangetomato said: Crystal’s got a lotta nerve. I wouldn’t mess with Olive.

She has ovaries of steel, that’s for sure!

(Me taking too many pictures)

littleblondesim said: psh, no such thing as too many sims pictures

Ha! I only posted like ¾ of the pictures I took of the Singles round…

(Ripp discussing love at the Smith dinnertable)

nestadaughter said: He’s giving some valuable advice, for sure.

Maybe he’s taking advice? He is approaching college age and is still unkissed… 7/9 listening to him have way more experience (even Vidcund, “Übernerd” has been kissed!)

(Ophelia and Lola dancing next to Jenny and PT preparing to wohoo)

holleyberry said: They obviously don’t mind an audience.

I… I have no words for this (that won’t attract a porn-blog)

(Ajay rolls a lifetime want to become Head of the SCIA)

didilysims said: Perfect!

It was just too good to be true! Love this!

(Ajay deeming Chloe too boring)

holleyberry said: Chloe? Boring?!

It’s Ajay! I think his choices of conversation and hers differ greatly.

Thanks for your comments, guys! I really appreciate it!

In response to the layout of 2 Cover Up Road, didilysims said: Much better layout! And I like how you still kept the weirdness of the lot. 😀

Yeah, I quite like it. I hope I managed to give the house a little character. it still has the modern, black-and-white vibe of the old lot, but also resembles the characters that live in it: The clean, sleek look Pascal prefers, combined with Lazlo’s plants everywhere and Vidcunds collection of old-fashioned pictures and paintings. Well, at least I hope it’s noticeable.

(By the way, inspiration for the columns and little Tycho’s double-room-thing was taken from meetme. Whenever I get stuck on making over houses, I have a quick look at some blogs, hers being my favourite.)

In response to my previous comments,  didilysims said: Absolutely–there are only so many hours in the day, and a lot of things take priority over Sims. 🙂

Yeah. Although I must say that for a rather long time, I was almost bored of the game. But now that I’m back in the mood… I have content queued until next wednesday.

In response to Lazlo pining over Crystal,  holleyberry said: There are more fish in the sea, Lazlo.

Funnily enough, there is not a single sim in town he has good chemistry with. Except for Circe Beaker, but let’s be honest, that’s not going to happen.

In response to Lazlo influencing Crystal (drugging? What is this potion?),  holleyberry said: It’s not real though, Lazlo.

It is not. I wonder what will happen if Crystal realises what’s happening or if one of his brothers find out. I don’t think that their problem with the matchmaker’s elixir stems from the fact that it’s not scientific.

didilysims said: It’s kind of a neat idea…just not the most playable set-up. Good to see you back, even if it’s just for a little while. 🙂

(About the weird Strangetown house) It’s interesting, I guess. Oh, hopefully I’ll stay active for some time. It’s just that life’s still pretty hectic at times. Between college, taking care of my mother and spending as much time as possible with my boyfriend there isn’t always time to play Sims, and lately, I just didn’t feel like. Well, still got a month before college starts again and a full queue, sowe’ll see…

holleyberry said: I like this pairing way better than she and Lazlo.

It’s an interesting pairing, for sure. I don’t think many people pair them, but I can somewhat see them together (they have one bolt together, which is two more than she and Lazlo have). For now, Lazlo is crazy about Crystal (he has a Popularity secondary in my game and constantly rolls wants about flirting with her, entertaining her, giving her a backrub, etc.) and… you’ll see. Can’t eliminate them ending up together if things don’t go as planned for Lazlo… you’ll see.

And it wouldn’t stop glitching out! Even when I switched back into normal view and then back again!

didilysims said: That’s so cool! I love seeing behind-the-scenes stuff like that, and sometimes I think seeing the rehearsal can be more interesting than the final play! And not seeing a play this time gives you an excuse to go back someday! 😉

*bragging* I’m actually scheduled to assist the director (actually more like assisting the assistent of the director) in an upcoming opera that is performed at our university soon, so I might even get to experience this behind-the-scene-stuff first-hand- I love it, too! I’m always the one who watches the behind the scene footage and outtakes on DVDs and online. XD I’ll definitly come back, even only seeing the globe is impressing.

alexbgd said: strange I never ever, ever have a burglar in my game..

The “Wish for Wealth” genie wish ups the chances of getting robbed. But still, the amount of fires and burglaries in this hood is getting ridiculous!!! And only about half of the robbed households (spoiler: almost every single household) ever recieved a genie lamp…

didilysims said: Ha ha, you Germans have a wonderful way with words!

XD Our sayings tend to be rather… violent. And flowery. I’d really like to know how most of them were coined. Especially that “Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl” one… What the heck was going on wherever this was coined? Passive aggressive, bludgeoning bavarians? Fence-waving saxons? I’m going to look that one up, actually

EDIT: It’s actually somewhat linked to bludgeoning. As in medieval times, it was used to suggest someone that a good smacking awaited them. (The more you know) But it was mostly used to show that something couldn’t be more obvious, but still missed by the reciever.

syreni-sims reblogged this from aondaneedles :

i love your photos so much aonda!

Thank you so much! And this coming from you! I absolutly adore your pictures (and Sims, of course. They’re marvellous!)
