5 Things Meme

I was tagged by @holleyberry . Thank you!

5 things you’ll find in my bag:

A huge wallet (style over functionality in that case- still love it to bits)

Tissues

A marble (?) ( I don’t know how that got in there- I don’t even own marbles.)

A grocery store receipt from October. Bought some orange juice and minced meat. Nothing else.

Another grocery store receipt. This one’s from August. Really need to clean out my purse more often.

5 things you’ll find in my room:

The handmade, bright green-blue-pink quilt my mother made me some years ago. Love it to bits, even though she’s now kind of ashamed of it (she’s gotten so much better over the last three years, it’s amazing).

Way too many empty water bottles. I’m lazy. And I drink a lot.

A dirty pile of clothes the big dog usually sleeps on.

Lots and lots of gifts. Spent two hours today gift wrapping. I’m the primary gift wrapper this year (but I’m not very good at it).

“Buckingham Corgi”– bought him at the Buckingham Palace gift shop two years ago. He’s sitting in the forest of empty water bottles, judging me…

5 things that make me happy:

My dogs

My boyfriend

Working headphones– it’s really hard to find a working pair in this household

Christmas!

My upcoming vacation with my family and boyfriend- even though I could throttle my family right now- the joys of Christmas preparations ^^

5 things I’m currently into:

Christmas! I’m all about that holiday, preparing food, decorations and gifts!

Animal Crossing New Leaf– yup, still addicted

Learning about midwives and the process of giving birth- this one needs some explaining so I don’t look like a serial killer! I’ve always been interested in the topic, but never considered becoming one (I’m extremely squeamish). My oldest friend- who is currently in training to become one- has given me some literature on the topic. It’s so interesting (even though I’m surer than ever that I don’t want to be one)!

Makeup– after feeling like shit for the entirety of the semester (health issues), I’ve recently started to do makeup again. It’s fun!

I’m still pretty into names. Blame it on the historian inside of me, but there’s something about learning about names and the history behind them that’s really speaking to me. Too bad I won’t be able to write my bachelor’s thesis about that…

5 things on my to-do list:

Clean the entire house

Prepare my 3+ college presentations and learn for the exams

Pack for my vacation

Watch Parks and Recreation Season 7

Relax!

Somehow this turned into a freaking novel. Sorry about that! As always, I’m gonna tag people out of my activity page… @davidmont@cindysimblr@moocha-muses@eulaliasims and @wickedjr89 . No pressure, though.

Shuffle Meme

 Thanks for the tag, thesimtraveler.

1. Away in a Manger– Bing Crosby

Look who forgot to remove their Christmas playlist from their IPod…

2. Primadonna– Marina and The Diamonds

I’m actually more of a song rather than artist type of girl. Not with Marina and The Diamonds. Heard “I am not a robot” on our local radio station eight years ago and have been a fan ever since.

3. The Outsider– Marina and The Diamonds

See? (Also, she’s weirdly well-known in my country.)

4. Basket Case– Green Day

When I was still an ‘emo/goth/whatever kid’, my friends introduced me to Green Day. Lost the style, kept my taste in music (and the friends).

5. Der Teufel– Schandmaul

Yeah, good luck trying to decipher what’s going on here… I really like a lot of genres as long as I long as the song ‘captures’ my attention, I don’t care whether it’s Pop, “Deutschrock” or Bluegrass.

6. Fairytale- Alexander Rybak

European people love their Eurovision Song Contest *shrug*

7. Tune it Up #1– RENT

More rhythmic talking than singing, but hey. Since I studied Theatre Studies with emphasis on Musical Theatre for two years, my Musical/Opera playlist is pretty extensive. RENT is one of my favourite musicals for many reasons. Too many to list.

8. Santa Barbara Skies– Psych- The Musical

I’m a Psych-O.

9. Vincent – Don McLean

I originally downloaded it for my mother to be able to listen to it on long car journeys (back in… 2011?) but since have grown incredibly fond of his music. I don’t know what it is, but it really speaks to me.

10. Tanz der Vampire( Finale)– Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires)

Ha! Way to go out with a bang! Another one of my favourite musicals and the German version is actually the original one, so you can actually listen to it without cringing (ask me about the German translation of RENT, I dare you. Wrote an essay about that one once).

Also, it’s funny how your opinion of it depends on whether you watched the American Version of it (the ‘improved’ Broadway version- one of the most expensive flops of all time, and rightfully so *shudders*) or the European one.

I tag @audreysims@squeezleprime , @cindysimblr and @littleblondesim , simply because they are the last 4 people that liked some of my posts and I’m lazy like that. Don’t feel pressured to, though.

I suck at Replies…

(Christmas break was extremly busy, sorry)

That’s the one picture of them I took that wasn’t them fighting. They do not get along at all.

Dinner-for-one reblog (beating a dead horse):

XD. Ever watched it (it’s probably on Youtube)? When my grandparents were still alive, my grandfather often imitated James. He was nearly blind, so a few times it was not quite voluntary. ^^

Me debating whether to start a BACC:

katatty-main said: im always attempting to start baccs, too! i never even finish building the starter houses, haha

mooseabides said: Story of my life! Haha.

eulaliasims said: A succinct summary of every bacc I’ve tried to start too.

I feel you. BACCs are hard, especially since I have the attention span of a goldfish, zero patience and have difficulties connecting with self-made Sims… Gets even worse because I had to read so many Victorian novels for college that I kind of want to play a Victorian/ old timey BACC… Yeah, that ain’t happening…

Non-Sims text post about I’m a celebrity – get me out of here:

Good to know! My parents watch it religiously and since it started yesterday, it’s dominating the news. Wondered if this was just something German people inexplicitly love.

Someone was concerned about my WTF post, but I’ve since deleted it. I actually answered it via reply, but I’m not sure if it reached you. Nothing bad happened, just watched the new Sherlock episode (I’m studying English, that’s kinda mandatory XD) and felt the need to express myself.
