I’m going to upgrade. Keep the old PC and switch out whatever needs to be switched. Although I’m on a budget, so depending on what else needs to be replaced, I may or may not get a new graphics card. I currently play on an old 2008 gaming graphics card which the friend that repaired my PC (my old graphics card broke while I was writing my “Bachelorarbeit”- which was extremely inconvenient!). It’s fine but doesn’t play nice with my more CC heavy save- hence why I’m currently playing a low CC game just for fun.

I’m currently rebuilding Strangetown from scratch in my low cc save (because my original save got corrupted and my backups were eaten by a virus-ridden university book scanner- long story), and I’m having a bit of fun before I start seriously recreating the “story”. (I’ll also shake things up a bit. Maybe it’ll be a parallel universe? Sounds like something that’ll fit right in with Strangetown).

I changed the Singles’ house quite a bit and got them a bubble blower (I saw it in @meetmetotheriver‘s newest iteration of Strangetown and it just fit so well, I needed it!). It’s a household favorite

Thanks. It was a downloaded lot. I bulldozed it and rebuilt it from scratch. It’s working now (and I no longer get weird stares from my Sims).

moudschegiebchn said: That sucks. :/ Are you sure all your drivers are up-to-date? My old PC once went bersek due to over 20 drivers I haven’t updated. *chrm*

Yeah, they’re all up to date. I think it’s just age. I mean, it’s now 4 years old (and my original graphics card already croaked). The Windows installation has been slightly buggy since last year, so that’s probably the issue. Thank god Win7 is not that expensive.

My PC is acting up. I wonder what it is this time (after the graphics card in July). Prooobably Windows. Well, guess I know what I’ll get for Christmas (a checkup and some new components) At least then I’ll be able to play my “high” (~3.5gb of custom content) again without my ancient graphics card throwing a fuss.

I have the weirdest bug…

Whenever I play one specific house, save and exit it, the next time I load it, the inhabitants stand in front of it as if they just moved in. Everything else saves just fine (clothing changes, job promotions), they just… stand there. Staring at me. I’m pretty sure I won’t sleep tonight.
