Hi! Thank you!

1. Sleep. I’m currently really sleep deprived (for reasons unknown to me- I aim for 7-9 hours daily but spend a lot of time awake- tossing and turning- instead), so being able to get some quality sleep makes me happy.

2. My family. They can be a handful at times (and noisy and annoying), but I do love them. Which is great, because I’ll be stuck with them for at least 3 more years.

3. Autumn. I can barely wait. Autumn is the season of celebration and family traditions in my family (a lot of birthdays, saint’s days and other family get-togethers are in Autumn), and since I’m very family oriented, it’s just a great time for me overall.

4. The “vorlesungsfreie Zeit”. I get roughly 3 months of vacation from my school every Summer, and I really enjoy all the free time I’ve suddenly got on my hand. I can spend a lot of time with my boyfriend- which is nice because he works shifts and the flexibility makes it easier to spend some time together, I can relax and recharge after a very stressful semester and I have enough time and energy to do the things I love.

5. My dogs. The big one just snuck up on me and put his head on my knee. I know he’s probably just hungry, but I like to pretend he does that because he loves me. ^^

Wow, thank you for your quick replies!

questforsims said: you have to go and fiddle with the neighborhood id, right now the game is reading it as a downtown because in the neighborhood file that’s what its marked as. I believe you can crack open the file in SimPE and manually change it’s marker? Though it might be best to message meetme about it since she’s the queen of neighborhood corruption. okay so, I did this just as a test but what should theoretically work is, you need to go into SimPE, open the neighborhood.package (inside N00X or whatever) Open the IDNO, and you’ll see two things, one is the parent name, which you’ll want to change to whatever you’re new ID is, and the other is Neighborhood Type, you’re going to want to set it to normal, and since yours was a downtown it should be set as such. Hope that helps 🙂

Thank you both for your help! Things like this always show me what a noob at SimPE I am (I can change genetics and that’s it). I changed the IDNO, but the neighbourhood still doesn’t show up. I guess I messed something up (probably playing it in its incomplete/corrupted state- although I now have to question why it showed up in neighbourhood menu in the first place). I’ll try it again with an unplayed copy and if that doesn’t work… I guess I’ll just play it (let’s be real: I’ll just fool around in it for a while before I get bored again and return to my other hoods) as intended? (A downtown to an empty neighbourhood)

Thanks again! I was surprised at how quick you were. I think that really shows how awesome the Sims 2 community is! ❤

On the topic of Main Hoods and Downtowns (and trying to change them)

So “renaming” a Downtown neighbourhood (in that case meetmes’ alternative Downtown template) to turn it into a main ‘hood does not work? Atleast for me. After loading it once, it just disappeared from the neighbourhood display. It’s still in the folder, though (and yes, I checked if all the data has the same NXXX-in front of it). So I guess that’s just how it works? Or is that actually possible and my game is turning into a big fireball?
