Look, Middleground got a bigger diner (heavily inspired by @katatty ‘s Asteroid Diner).

I’m back! Not that I was ever gone, thanks to a full drafts folder and the occasional peek at my game during my internship. Well, that drafts folder is now empty, and I have a lot of free time on my hands until college starts again (and I will likely disappear again because it’s my final term- eeeks!), so I booted up my game. Then I closed it again. Opened it up again. Decided that I needed to suck it up and put the last two households I played in Middleground before the break into the queue. Good news: it really got me back into the mood. So expect some new Middleground posts over the next few days.

It’s not… bad, it’s just very repetitive and base-gamey. Just think of what they could have done with all expansion packs!

didilysims said: It’s so modern! So hip! Look at all the cool things you can do with roofs, Sims fans!!!

THE ROOFS!!! (I actually kept most of them, just made them a little less…steep.)

(I’m not sure whether I’ll actually play the neighbourhood- and if, whether I’ll post about it- but remodelling it has been really nice while I was busy.)

Last line meme

I got tagged by @grimbunnies

“In the long run, Labour managed to establish a ‘consensus politic’ which managed to persist until Margaret Thatcher’s reign and brought the country a long phase of prosperity until the economic crisis in the 1970′s.”

A very rough translation of one of my history term papers (figured it might be better to translate it since our teachers tend to google certain phrases to look for plagiarism and I really don’t feel like explaining why my conclusion shows up on a Sims Tumblr). As always, not going to tag anyone (I would have to tag 35 people and that’s just excessive!), but consider yourself tagged if you want to.

The sims in ts2 don’t have traits, aspirations and neither do they have an emotions system but they still feel like the most complete ones in the franchise. Heck, I’ve been playing with a sim that just rolled a wish to cook and now she is obsessed with it. She dreams of being a oceanographer even tho I didn’t plan her to be so. That’s the fucking fun in that game. It’s not like you create a sim, it’s like you’re discovering one and guiding them through their life. They feel attracted to other sims, they hate other sims, they have wishes and fears and most important they have emotions. Yeah, they do. It’s not up on your face like ts4, it’s subtle but powerful enough to make a difference in the gameplay. Goddamnit I love this fucking game.

Amen!
