The older twins are off to school and the toddler palooza starts. Margery and Gwydion are currently learning how to talk and how to use the potty.
My PC’s back and runs Sims just fine. Yay! (And I finally have my beloved spell check back!)

primaverasims said: I would think so if it’s the premades since you imagine them outside of canon. But if it’s 100% original characters in a custom neighborhood (or emptied neighborhoods) I would categorize it as original fiction
ejsims said: agree with everyone about the premades-technically, those stories are fanfic.
strangetomato said: I think it’s similar to fanfiction, but not the same. What we are given with the premades are hints and clues to story and some character details that can be interpreted in endless ways. It’s more of a template for storytelling than a fiction work to transform, as in fanfic.
Hm, interesting point of views…I would agree that original characters aren’t fanfiction. And yeah, technically posting about the premades is fan fiction- although canon is much broader and it is more of a template than a given story.
katzengirl said: Yep, stories about the premades is fanfiction. 🙂 There’s even a category for the Sims on fanfiction.net though not many people have posted there.
Really? Wow. That’s kinda weird. I suppose it’s just text, too?
New graphics card
simlishnoir said: Nvidia GTX 750 is a good card that worked with TS2 and is quite decent for other games (maybe not the latest ones) as well. I personally use a GTX 1060 (after upgrading from the one mentioned before) and TS2 works for that as well.
ethanmcgregor said: I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and TS2 runs great with it.
Thank you for your suggestions! The game actually runs well with the graphics card I managed to lend (although it’s rather loud). I think I’ll look into the GTX 750, it sounds good and still cheap enough for a broke college student.
Welcome to hell, aka the Spitzig family. Yes, enjoy that three minutes of peace, Kaylynn and Leo, because as every morning, hell’s about to break loose!

The puppies pee everywhere. Everywhere.
Anyway, next up, the Spitzigs.
Ivy invites over her oldest friend, Christy. She has a surprise for her.

“For me?What’s in there?”
“Basic equipment for dogs. Follow me.”

“This is Demeter, she is a real sweetheart- and your dog now!”
“Oh, Ivy, that’s so nice of you, but there’s no way we can afford her, even with your generous gifts.”
YOU LITERALLY ONLY HAVE TO PAY FOR HER FOOD! IT’S A GIFT!!!

Well, your loss then.

Meanwhile, Ivy finds a job in her dream career path (yup, she wants to be a criminal).
So it was actually the graphics card, not the mainboard, it turns out. Which means that I’ll have to start looking for a new card soon (I can borrow an older model for now- maybe Sims will run on it, maybe it won’t).
Which begs the question: should I go back to an NVIDIA GTX 650 (steady, reliable, not too fancy and newer games probably won’t run on it, and cheap to get) or should I… upgrade (with all the hassle of making the game run on a newer graphics card).

Cressida comes home from school with an A+!
