Google Translate of SimTimes SimCamp Article

Under the advice crinrict posted I went over to SimTimes.de and translated their article in the hopes of learning something new.  The only thing that stood out to me (besides the poor translation) was this:

  • The neighborhood is aging with again. (Die Nachbarschaft altert wieder mit)

Does that imply a story progression?  It also explains this question about wants from the other day.  It doesn’t sound like there will be a want or wish system.

source

That’d better be 100% optional if it is. Story progression is my number 1 deal-breaker and I will not touch the game if my families are being played without me.

No wants, but sims are now left- or right-handed? Great, that sure sounds like an innovative game mechanic that will bring a lot of variety.

But, uh, what is that about depressed sims and suicide

Sims can commit suicide? Uh, yeah, don’t think this is real. There’s no way they’d be able to get that past the censors.

Edit: Checked it out, the original German reads: “Deprimierte Sims begehen keinen Selbstmord”

Which, if my German isn’t too rusty, says ‘depressed Sims will NOT commit suicide’. So yeah. Didn’t think so.

I don’t know, they could off themselves in TS2 via cowplant. But then, it wasn’t exactly a feature they advertised, so yeah. I’m side-eyeing that point, if not the whole post.

In the original source the sentence was “Depremierte Sims begehen keinen Selbstmord”. commit no suicide) Nepheris is right about it. There will be no suicide if the Sim is sad, but they will be able to die of their emotions (e.g. if they are in rage).
Which I don’t think its really… good? So if my Sim is sad because he broke up with his girlfriend, there is a chance that he droppes dead? And I don’t care if my Sims are left- or righthanded, that is really not something I need in my game…
